Traveling again!

Can you tell I love to travel? This time I am off east for a week. I am planning a trip with a friend of mine to Prince Edward Island. There is a bible conference there, and that is the reason for our trip. As a child I attended the PEI conference nearly every year, but I haven't been there in about 15 years or so, so I am really looking forward to it!
Kyle is coming with me, so that will be fun. I can't wait to show him around Charlottown and visit the old buildings there and such. I know it's too early to swim, but we'll probably go to the beach anyway, just for a walk, because I miss it so much! I also hope to visit with some old friends while I am there. I am pretty excited!
We are also planning a trip east in the summer, when hopefully I can show the other two PEI, as none of them have ever been there.
Too bad they don't have Pepsi in glass bottles there anymore!

Beautiful!

It looks to be a marvelous sunshiney warm day today! It's about time~ the rainy grey and cold has been getting to me. I planted the onions and lettuce yesterday. I need to wait to do the beets, radishes, peas, swiss chard, spinach, potatoes and carrots until we replace the belt on the rotertiller. Yes, we got a rotertiller, FINALLY! I've been wanting one for years so I don't have to shovel dig my gardens. It's an oldie, but it works very well. (when it has a belt haha) G will pick one up on his way home from work tonight and hopefully we can finish rotertilling tonight and get those veggies planted. The rest of the veggies require warmer weather here in southern Ontario before they canbe planted. I figure I'll put in some sweet corn, beans, squash, pumpkin, melons, zucchini, and Tomatos. Hopefully we'll get lots of yummy fresh no chemicals vegetables through the whole summer!

We had a storm!

It was a great, scary storm. The sky turned green, and the wind, hail and rain just came so fast and hit the house with a WHOMP. It didn't last long, but it was scary enough to send the boys and I to the basement! There was a lot of damage from it, all around here, but I'll just post some of the damage close to home.
Here are some photos of the aftermath:
There were two trees on the power lines by my house:

a shot from when it lightened up a bit:

our road was closed due to the trees on the wires

and we had a huge maple branch come down on our house. Thankfully there was no damage from it!
